A note from a friend to say that This is worth reading…

A simple man tells how his booking an air ticket for his father, his first flight, brought emotions
and made him realize that how much we all take for granted when it comes to our parents.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact,
my father had never traveled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the
same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Lufthansa.

The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air.
The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy, he was
preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his
luggage, the baggage check-in and asking for window seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen.

He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these
things.

As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that
this meant a great deal to him.

When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me.

But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life.

As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without understanding the financial
situation, we ask for football, dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have satisfied to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes?

Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?

Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc.. But we tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see
us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they failed to see
when they were young, it is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life
is complete.

Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without
patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments.

Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same
attention and same care need to be given to our parents and elders.

Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best
possible attention to all their wishes. Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.

Take care of your parents .

Pls pass on this mail to every child who loves parents and want to love them more & parents who are
just starting to raise their children…. ..

This is my elder son Sean (9), most of the time whee I was online to update my blogs and reply to emails and surfing for new ideas, he will be the one who always come and see whether I have taken a rest, as it will the time he can play online games. Somehow, I do not know how he knew all the Internet surfing and searching as I never taught him, In his school, they only taught him the basic Microsoft office application. Kids, are much more smarter than we think.

Most of the time, when I was online, Sean will sit quietly watching and sometime asking something when he was not sure what I was doing. And every time when I logged into community sites like MyBloglot, Blogcatalog and some others community sites, he saw his younger brother Maximus’s photo as my avatar and asked how can his photo be shown like his brother on the Internet.

Recently, I joined The ThirtyDays Challenge, and in this challenge Ed-Dale the site owner and trainer introduce some more Web2.0 sites to do promotion and marketing of this challenge, most of them I was a member and never really involve and do not know much of it features and benefits until this The ThirtyDays Challenge lessons. Since he “complaint” not using his photo on the net, so I decide to use Sean photo as my Avatar in the new Web2.0 sites, like You Tube, Digg, Friendfeed, Twitter etc.

Now here came the problem, after he saw his photo, he told me he didn’t quite like it, could he have like what I did for my blog, and now I realize, he wanted a blog of his own!

As one of Sean aims is to get into the International School when he finishes his primary education, we always told him that he must be good at his language and then he can enter the International School, so what’s better way than training him to write than have his own blog? Here Lady and Gentleman, I have the pleasure to present to you, Sean Journal. Feel free to leave your comment.

Last night as I was driving around with my wife and youngest son about to be 6 years old Max, the following dialogue took place and you will see how sometime we under estimate the strategic mind of our child.

Max, “Daddy, how old are you?”

Me, “50.”

Max,”50 years old?” He turn to his mom and asked, “Mom, how old is daddy?”

Mom, “I thought Daddy says 50 years old.”

Max turn to me, “Daddy, are you 50 years old? No you are not 50, you are only 47!”

Mom and me, “Since you know, why still ask me.”

Max, “No you are not 47, you are going to be 47, your birthday coming soon.”

Me, ” OK, since daddy’s birthday is coming, what are you giving Daddy?”

Max, “I will give you money.”

“Wow, how much/” I asked

“One dollar!” Max, “I only have One Dollar to give!”

Me and Mom, “Good boy.”

Max, “Daddy birthday is coming, but my birthday come earlier, we are in the same August.!”

Me, ” OK, since you have gave daddy your money, what do you wanted for your birthday?”

Little do I knew I have fallen into his leading trap right from the beginning.

Max,”You promise. I don’t want to celebrate at home, I want………………” and a long list of request.

Never under estimate the intelligent of young children, they knew pretty well what to say in order to lead you into getting what they wanted.

Have a nce day.
