You Will Know What Is Better When It Comes To Earning Money

Tomato Story

A Jobless man applied for the position of ‘office boy’ at Microsoft.

The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

‘You are employed’ he said. Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied ‘But I don’t have a computer, neither an email’.

‘I’m sorry’, said the HR manager. If you don’t have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.’

The man left with no hope at all. He didn’t know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.

He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US

He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.

When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.

The man replied,’I don’t have an email.’

The broker answered curiously, ‘You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!’ The man thought for a while and replied, ‘Yes, I’d be an office boy at Microsoft!’

Moral of the story

Moral 1

Internet is not the solution to your life.

Moral 2

If you don’t have Internet, but work hard, you can be a millionaire.

Moral 3

If you received this message by email,

you are closer to being an office boy/girl, than a millionaire……….

P.S – Do not forward this email back to me,

I am closing my email account & going to sell tomatoes!!!

Warm regards and thanks for your time !

Who is responsible?

2008年7月19日

Man Injured Old Woman while test drive new car. It was on the back page of yesterday Chinese daily. news. A man was test driving a new car with Trade Plate (Red Plate) and unfamiliar with the new car features, lost control, skidded and hit an elderly woman on the road side and than badly damage the new car when knocking a tree by the road side.

While reading this, my wife asked me, “Who is responsible for the damages and injuries?” And I told her my “expert” opinion. Interestingly, this morning, when she send her new toy forminor repair, she asked the car dealer’s salemen and support staff, and no one seemed to be able to answer her question. And when she told me that, it sparks an interesting issue “who is responsible?”

What happened here is, the Car is still not registered in any person or company name but using a Trade Plate which is normally use for test driving of new car for prospective customers to have a feel of the car. Someone need to be responsible for the damage or at least the injuries suffered by the old woman.

The trade plate (red plate) is issue to car dealers only for the use of Test Driving on new car, together with the issuance of the Road Tax which is by law required by any car to be on the road, it must have an insurance attached. Whenever any prospective customers wich to test drive any car, the must use the Trade Plate which is red in color to allow the cutomer to drive the said car on the road. In this case, it is very unfortunate that the driver who was unfamiliar with the features of the car, caused an accident and injured a third party in addition to damage the car. So who is responsible? Definitely is the driver. And the next question is, “who will pay for the damages and injury to third party?” This is the question where most people are interested. Answer is The Insurance Company, provided the driver had a valid driving license and not under any influence of alcohol or drug, it’s covered under insurance for the Trade License plate with off course , terms and conditions applied.

The damage can be repair, sever injuries and lost of life cannot be recovered, while this car is due to unfamiliarization of the new features on the new car, it is regrettable to see that many drivers on the road lack the basic courtesy and care to other road users and drive as if either the road belong to them or they thought they are immortal.

Learn to have basic courtesy on the road, why the rush, think of your love one at home and other people love one waiting for their parents, son or daughter or sibling back home waiting.

drive carefully.

Master Communication Strategist

2008年7月16日

Last night as I was driving around with my wife and youngest son about to be 6 years old Max, the following dialogue took place and you will see how sometime we under estimate the strategic mind of our child.

Max, “Daddy, how old are you?”

Me, “50.”

Max,”50 years old?” He turn to his mom and asked, “Mom, how old is daddy?”

Mom, “I thought Daddy says 50 years old.”

Max turn to me, “Daddy, are you 50 years old? No you are not 50, you are only 47!”

Mom and me, “Since you know, why still ask me.”

Max, “No you are not 47, you are going to be 47, your birthday coming soon.”

Me, ” OK, since daddy’s birthday is coming, what are you giving Daddy?”

Max, “I will give you money.”

“Wow, how much/” I asked

“One dollar!” Max, “I only have One Dollar to give!”

Me and Mom, “Good boy.”

Max, “Daddy birthday is coming, but my birthday come earlier, we are in the same August.!”

Me, ” OK, since you have gave daddy your money, what do you wanted for your birthday?”

Little do I knew I have fallen into his leading trap right from the beginning.

Max,”You promise. I don’t want to celebrate at home, I want………………” and a long list of request.

Never under estimate the intelligent of young children, they knew pretty well what to say in order to lead you into getting what they wanted.

Have a nce day.

Entrepreneurs Youth

2008年7月11日
Attended a Seminar last evening on Entrepreneurship organized by Junior Chamber International Damai, the seminar aims to instill the entrepreneurial spirit of young people. Very often, when youth graduated from university or college, the first thing in their mind is to enter into job market looking for a “permanent employment” the work is moving so fast that today, there is not such thing as permanent employment. Most company now employed people based on performance and productivity, there is very few places for bench warmers.

it is thus very aptly for JCI Damai to organized such an event and generally it was very well organized and attended. Credit must be given to the organizing committee and the chapter. The topic included Money and Entrepreneurs by a young entrepreneurs and Franchising from the founder and owner Nelson Kwok of Nelson’ corn. The first speaker spoke on concept but the later spoke on real experience and a proven business model which expand through Asia and Middle east. The surprising guest were the officer and deputy minister from Ministry of Entrepreneur and co-Operative and a Full state minister to inspire the youth on entrepreneurship.

Many youth today did not appreciate the benefits of joining voluntary organization like JCI whose aim is to build young leaders through organizing projects, doing voluntary and charity work, learn the proper protocol in addressing in a public event, learning to work as a team and build their character. That is why there are so many graduates every year finding themselves jobless in the employment market, These graduates may have high IQ but lack EQ to blend themselves into the society.

An organization like JCI thus is a very good platform and arena for all youth to learn through experiencing in the project from a small charity sale, to seminar like this Entrepreneurship to big event like organizing the state and national convention. Where else can a person learn hand-on without afraid of making mistake which may cost their job but not with voluntary organization like JCI. The JCI activities centered around provides 5 areas of development which Individual, for personal development, Managementt to learn team building and management skill, Community to provide voluntary and charitable work to society as a responsible citizen, International to expand their mind and make contact worldwide and build Business network.

Once again, a job well done for the organizing committee and the BOD and Congratulations for your 20th anniversary.
