When Grandma goes to court

2008年7月10日
Looking through some of my old email and found this joke sent by a friend. Have a nice day and looking forward to weekend eventhough now is only half of the week. As usual unedited, and if you know the source, let me know. And if you have any joke or any thing wanted to share, email to me.

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know me?’ She responded, ‘Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I’ve known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you’re a big shot when you haven’t the brains to realize you’ll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.’

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?’

She again replied, ‘ Why ye s, I do. I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.’

The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, ‘If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair.’

Joke

She is having Fun with her new toy.

2008年7月8日

About a week now since my wife bought her “dream car” a Mercedes C180. Not exactly her “dream car” model, a older model, that was her dream model 3 years ago but she had upgraded her dream car to a newer model. Nonetheless, a Merz is still a Merz and she told me she is having fun driving her new car around when she meet her customers. My Wife used to drive an old car, the car we bought after we got married. Years passed, we had move tiwce from smaller house to bigger one but her car remain as

1. it has a sentimental value

2. the car had earned her lot of money as she had refinanced twice to use the money for real estate investment.

So to us, car is not a priority. Recently, due to the constantlt breakdown of her old car and also she is letting her employees using her car to service her customers, the need of an additional car become apprantly. We have much discussion on what car to buy considering the petrol price just went up by 40%.

After much consideration, between getting a new car and her “dream car” of the same price range, we decided that it is better to buy her dream car even though it is a little “old” One of the obvious reason is she will have a better treatment from Suppliers, Customers, contractors, Designers and others business associates. It is interesting to see how most people reacted with “branded Good”, when she drove to her customers house, they open the gate for her, contractors asked their workers to help her carried the samples and goods, customers talked with admiration and respect, as if she is a totally different person just a week ago.

Well for the past one week, she is really having fun observing how people change their behavior toward her just because she drove a Merz. It is interesting how most people perceive Success is and I guessed we had make a right choice by buying her “dream car” instead of a new car.

This is worth reading…

2008年7月7日

A friend of mine send me this email which I think is really worth reading. If you know the original source, let me know so that the writer or the source can be duely credited and recognized. I did not change a word not even the color of the font, itis same as the email I received

Think about it, Who have we been taking for granted lately?

This is worth reading…

A simple man tells how his booking an air ticket for his father, his first flight, brought emotions and made him realize that how much we all take for
granted when it comes to our parents.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Lufthansa.

The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and asking forwindow
seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen.

He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.

As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this meant a great deal to him.

When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me.

But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life.

As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without understanding the financial situation, we ask for football, dresses, toys,
outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have satisfied to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to
accommodate many of our wishes?

Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?

Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school.
Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc.. But we tend to forget that our
parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they failed to see when they were young, it is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life is complete.

Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments.

Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same attention and same care need to be given to our
parents and elders.

Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes. Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their
grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.

Take care of your parents .

Pls pass on this mail to every child who loves parents and want to love them more & parents who are just starting to raise their children…. ..

Story

For The Record

2008年7月6日

People (that includes my friends and associates) always ask me about the meaning of thename I used in my personal email address i.e. JauneSK and trying very hard to pronounce it. Frankly, I also have difficulty to pronounce it. You see, when I first registered for my first dial up internet access, all my preferred names were taken and I do not like to put numbers behind my initial and sur name. Kind of taboo on the feeling of like “Prison Break” inmate identity. :) During that time, I was studying French language, I fail in love with this language when I attended The First International Conference for Young LeadersIn Montreal, Canada and have the chance to visit Quebue city, what a lovely city with all the old buildings preserve so beautifully and nicely. The only regret wasI did not know a word of French, otherwise, I might just stay there for good. Just Kidding :)

Oh yes, back to my email name, I remember the Name of the late HonorableGovernor of Canada who is the main sponsor for this conference as the events was organised by The Foundation bearing her name was Jaune Sauve. I did not know what is means any french friend like to enlightened me. When I studied French acouple of years later, determine to visit this beautiful province one day and speak their language, the word Jaune was popping up from the worksheet given by the language teacher, it wascolor Yellow in French. What a co-incident as my sur name in Mandarin also means Yellow. So I decided to use that as my nick Sur Name plus my initial SK as my user name for the dial up internet access. Years passed, the internet has change so much and I guess no one is using any Dial Up Internet access now, but the my nick name remains. So that’s is the story and how it come about for my Nick name, just for the record.

Interestingly, two days ago, my wife wanted to forward some email to me and when she saw my email address, she never bother about all this as she left all the geek stuff to me; she asked the same old question, why are yiu using this name? Notagain!:( With a look of disbelievingly even after I had explained to her, I have to dig out my old french language note and show her. The case closed, not so fast!

Yesterday, my 9 years old eldest son Sean wanted to registered an internet game site and trying to registered with hispreferred names but to no avail. I was trying to help him to come out with all the Nice and easy to remember User name, then he “hit” me with a suggestion, why nothe use Jaune since I said it was equivalent to our Mandarin Sur Name and thenhis initial. That’s itI have more than enough of all these questions so I decided to registered a domain using JauneSK.com to settle it once and for all. Next time any one ask me about my nick name, I will direct them to this blog. What a good way of promoting a blog. :) hehe!

Funny thing was when I register this domain, the domain registration site suggested that I registered a domain using my REAL name and it say it may one day cost a fortune, well I am still thinking about it. But for the moment I will stick with JauneSK.com because if you google the word JauneSK, at least there are over 2500 sites listed. Imagine it went uo to 2,500,000 sites. Haha! :) :)
