Entrepreneurs Youth

2008年7月11日
Attended a Seminar last evening on Entrepreneurship organized by Junior Chamber International Damai, the seminar aims to instill the entrepreneurial spirit of young people. Very often, when youth graduated from university or college, the first thing in their mind is to enter into job market looking for a “permanent employment” the work is moving so fast that today, there is not such thing as permanent employment. Most company now employed people based on performance and productivity, there is very few places for bench warmers.

it is thus very aptly for JCI Damai to organized such an event and generally it was very well organized and attended. Credit must be given to the organizing committee and the chapter. The topic included Money and Entrepreneurs by a young entrepreneurs and Franchising from the founder and owner Nelson Kwok of Nelson’ corn. The first speaker spoke on concept but the later spoke on real experience and a proven business model which expand through Asia and Middle east. The surprising guest were the officer and deputy minister from Ministry of Entrepreneur and co-Operative and a Full state minister to inspire the youth on entrepreneurship.

Many youth today did not appreciate the benefits of joining voluntary organization like JCI whose aim is to build young leaders through organizing projects, doing voluntary and charity work, learn the proper protocol in addressing in a public event, learning to work as a team and build their character. That is why there are so many graduates every year finding themselves jobless in the employment market, These graduates may have high IQ but lack EQ to blend themselves into the society.

An organization like JCI thus is a very good platform and arena for all youth to learn through experiencing in the project from a small charity sale, to seminar like this Entrepreneurship to big event like organizing the state and national convention. Where else can a person learn hand-on without afraid of making mistake which may cost their job but not with voluntary organization like JCI. The JCI activities centered around provides 5 areas of development which Individual, for personal development, Managementt to learn team building and management skill, Community to provide voluntary and charitable work to society as a responsible citizen, International to expand their mind and make contact worldwide and build Business network.

Once again, a job well done for the organizing committee and the BOD and Congratulations for your 20th anniversary.
